Todd and I arrived at the reception site about 5:45, 15 minutes before the wedding party (and us) were to make our big entrance. We wanted to come in the back door so that we wouldn't be sucked in by guest conversations. Well, the door was locked. We were banging on it for a good five minutes. We could hear voices of the caterers who were setting up a few feet away. Good thing I had my cell phone! (Who carries their cell phone around on their wedding day?) I called and my trusty brother Tyler came to our rescue and let us in!
We opted to do our first dance right after our entrance. That way, everyone is still paying attention. Right before we were to walk out, the DJ comes running to us and asks what our first dance song was supposed to be! What a disaster! We told him that we wanted "Our Song" by Elton John and were speechless when he said that he didn't have it! His first replacement suggestion was Shania Twain which I thought was pretty horrid (sorry Shania fans!) We quickly settled on "Can't Help Falling in Love" by Elvis Presley. Crisis averted!
