Side note: We met up at our friends' house, Sean and Rachel. They recently moved into a new house and have done a lot of work on it. It's coming along beautifully! I think I am in love with their house. :)
Disclaimer #1: Chaps qualifies as a dive in the Drivers, Dine-ins and Dives. They share a parking lot with gentlemen's club, which was a bit weird. On the other hand, the parking lot smelled really, really good from the pit beef!
Disclaimer #2: The menu is pretty extensive. I had looked at it online for a few minutes before we left but I didn't make a decision then. When we got there, I was overwhelmed! Todd and I pretty much got a bunch of things to try. The prices weren't crazy either.
I got the Rachel. It was basically a reuben but with cole slaw. It was super good! I would give it a 9.5 out of 10. It was even good as leftovers! (I brought half of the sandwich home.)
The pork BBQ was pretty good as well.
Todd got the Double D. It was a cheeseburger with ham on it. The burger part was pretty huge and thick!
We got a small side of macaroni and cheese, just to try. When they say "small side" it really is small!
Here is Rachel eating her gigantic sandwich. It was so big that she couldn't stop clutching it! It was pretty impressive that she ate the entire thing! (She's probably going to kill me for posting this beauty of a picture!)
Disclaimer #3: They are not famous for their french fries. They were okay but were a bit soggy (not just from the cheese!)
When we were done, the guys went back up to get food to take home because they saw more stuff on the menu they wanted to try.
Overall it was a great trip! We probably won't drive out there again though unless we are passing through. The food was good but not good enough for the 40 minute or so drive!
