Valentine's Day Tea

Valentine's Day is coming up soon and I have been seeing a TON of great ideas on other blogs and on Pinterest. There are some amazing creative minds out there!

I stumbled across Life Unscripted's Love Tea tutorial and decided that it was a must try for me! Check it out!

Materials:

  • Teabags
  • If your teabags do not come with string, you will need white string or thread and a needle
  • Mug
  • Heart punch
  • Scissors
  • Cute paper
  • Hot glue gun & glue sticks
  • Mini baggies
  • Sharpies
  • Double sided tape
Instructions:

1. Try to get teabags with string already attached because it will save you a step. Unfortunately, the teabags that I had did not have string attached... of course. Take your needle, thread it and poke it through the seam of the teabag. Do not poke it through the part of the teabag that holds the tea. You don't want little grains of tea to float out!

2. Put the first teabag with string attached into your mug. Decide how long you want your string to be and cut your string. I left mine doubled up so that I would only have to tie one knot.

 3. After knotting the end, put a dab of hot glue onto one of your cut out hearts. (Use the heart punch and cute paper for that!) Place the knot on the dab of hot glue.

4. Put another dab of glue on top of the knot (unless you work fast and the glue didn't dry yet from the original dab). Place the second heart on top and squish and line it up.

5. Place in a baggie. I used mini baggies that I found in the jewelry isle in Michaels.

6. Since I am giving these away to people, I wanted to create labels for them so that people would know what flavor they received. I cut hearts out of more cute paper and wrote the flavor on it.

7. Then I put double sided tape on the back of the label and stuck it on the baggie.

Ta-da! Super easy and super cute!

Come back soon for my tutorial on homemade sugar "cubes" and stained glass cookies which will complete the Valentine's Day Tea. Both are perfect for using up those leftover candy canes and for Valentine's Day!
