Shrimp Fried Brown Rice


I don't know about you but I love me some good take-out! However, it can get a bit expensive. I found a recipe for homemade fried rice on Life as a Lofthouse and I was pleasantly surprised to see how easy it was! I made a few subtle changes based on what I had and it turned out soooo good! I will definitely be making this one again!


  • 1 bag shrimp, deveined, peeled and patted dry
  • 3-4 c cooked brown rice (I used instant.)
  • 3 tbs sesame oil
  • 1/2 c frozen peas
  • 1/2 c frozen corn
  • 1/2 c frozen broccoli
  • 2 tsp garlic, minced
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 c soy sauce
  • Olive oil
  • S&P

  1. In a large sautee pan, wok or saucepan, heat the olive oil.
  2. Cook the shrimp until pink; only a few minutes. 
  3. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside.
  4. Add the frozen veggies, garlic and S&P. Cook until heated through and then push to the side of the pan.
  5. Add the egg on the unoccupied side and scramble.
  6. Mix the egg, veggies, rice, shrimp, soy sauce and sesame oil together.
