Rocking Zebra

You are probably wondering, what the heck is a Rocking Zebra?! Well, do you know what a regular rocking horse is? Imagine that but as a zebra! That is exactly what I imagined when Todd and I picked up a nasty, old, wooden rocking horse for $3 at a thrift store.

Unfortunately, I totally neglected my blogging duties and did not take a before photo. Imagine an old wooden rocking horse covered in grime and grit with scraggly patches of yarn hair. Todd did an amazing sanding and clean up job:

I then primed it with Zinnser Cover Stain primer and painted it with some leftover paint from my Closet Shelving project in Woodrow Wilson Putty from Valspar Signature. I hand drew and hand painted each zebra stripe using a dark brown paint I also had leftover from our bathroom vanity.

Ready for the after shots?! Here they are:

What a fun project! :) I can't wait for my next one...
