French Onion Mashed Potatoes

Ingredients (10 servings)
- 5 lb red potatoes
- 8 oz softened cream cheese
- 12 oz container softened French onion dip (sour cream based)
- 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
Cut the potatoes into 1" chunks; no need to peel!
Place in a large pot and just cover with cold water. Add a generous amount of salt, a few tablespoons.
Bring the potatoes to a boil and cook until fork tender.
Drain the potatoes and add to large bowl or back into the pot.
Add the cream cheese, dip, 1 tsp S and 1/2 tsp P.
Mash the potatoes and combine all ingredients. I used an electric mixer but you could do it by hand.
Mash until you get the consistency you want; if it gets too thick, add a bit of milk.
