DIY Kitchen Sign from Dollar Store Frames

Ahhhh! Our kitchen reveal is. so. close. I am so so so sooooo excited about it!!! (Can you tell?) Unfortunately, you will have to wait a bit longer before I get a few more items in place and all the tools and paint cans out. But wow. It feels so good to be almost done after two plus years! Here is the before (right after closing!) if you were curious:

Ew, right? Anyway, back to what this post is originally about. Being so close to complete with our kitchen, I needed some food themed art. I have seen so many EAT signs all over blogland throughout the past few months. I wanted something different so I chose BAKE. (I really wanted to choose CARBS but I thought that would probably look a bit odd.) And I came up with this:

Woohoo! I am so in love with our kitchen color palette. It's so fresh, clean and cheery! Here's the tutorial:

4 4x6 dollar store frames
Scrap paper
Computer/laptop with Microsoft Word
Exacto knife
Cutting surface
Hot glue gun

I just love the pop of bright yellow with the greens, light blues and creams. The frames are the same paint color as the door and the fabric came from scraps leftover from our curtains. Here's some sneak peaks of them:

Stay tuned for the rest of the kitchen reveal!

Pssttt... Want another sneak peak? Check out the mood board here.

  1. Love the DIY frames. So clever! Thanks for stopping by, happy to be following back. :)

  2. Hi!! Thanks for coming to . Isn't the GYB hop so fun??!! I'm pinning this tutorial. I'm not very crafty but this looks pretty simple. And I like the materials come from the Dollar Store. I hate buying expensive items and then I flake out and don't make the craft or I try to make the craft and mess it up.
