Peanut Butter & Banana Dog Treats

by
Keywords: bake snack peanut butter banana oats
Ingredients (150 1 1/2 x 1 inch bone treats)
- 1 large egg
- 1 large or 2 small bananas, peeled and mashed
- 1/3 c creamy peanut butter
- 1 tbs pure maple syrup
- 1 c whole wheat flour
- 1/2 c rolled oats
- 1 egg white, lightly beaten
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 300* and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a food processor, combine the large egg, banana, peanut butter and syrup until smooth and combined.
Transfer mixture to a medium bowl and stir in flour and oats.
Transfer to a clean surface and knead with additional flour until it is no longer sticky.
Roll out with flour so that the dough is 1/4 inch thick.
Cut with your cookie cutters and place on the baking sheet. They do not spread so you can place them very close together.
Brush tops with egg whites.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until hard and crunchy.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer.

I will be using this recipe to make some for gifts for our doggie friends!!! This is so the way to go for so many reasons! Have a lovely day lady!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute! I don't think my dog likes bananas though. But I can replace those with some other fruit easily. Thanks for sharing this.
ReplyDeleteFor the dollhouse steps- I used the Dremel Trio to make the holes in the jumbo craft sticks. It worked great and I only split 1. You can put a piece of masking tape on the stick before you drill. It should keep the stick from splitting.
hugs♥,
Caroline
This sounds like such a great recipe filled with all things good for your pup! I've had a dog bone cookie cutter for a long time but just never settled on a recipe. Thanks so much! I like the freezing idea, too.
